Rothrock Cleanup Team

Little Shingletown Road
Rothrock State Forest

On November 1, 2003, a small group of local volunteers assisted PA CleanWays of Huntingdon County and Park's Garbage Service in cleaning an inactive dumpsite along Little Shingletown Road in Rothrock State Forest. Volunteers donated a total of 10 hours to the project, helping to remove over a ton of trash from the area.

Park's Garbage Service, Inc. of Mount Union, provided hauling, disposal, and labor for the cleanup.

Working Together To Gather The Trash

Articles removed from the Little Shingletown Road site included glass jars, bottles, and rusted metal. The area was the former site of one of six Civilian Conservation Corps camps located in Rothrock State Forest.
