Chapman State Park

Visitors to Chapman State Park are finding it cleaner after an old, inactive dumpsite within the park boundaries was cleaned on November 19, 2004.

The contractor, Let George Do It, used a backhoe and hand labor to remove two tons of waste from the area. The trash was disposed at the nearby Chautauqua County Landfill in Jamestown, New York. After the cleanup, the area was graded to remove any ruts left by the equipment.

DCNR encourages residents with recycling or proper disposal questions to contact the Warren County Recycling Coordinator at (814) 726-2431.
