Old Abandoned Car in the Woods
Summit Road
Buchanan State Forest

On June 17, 2004, personnel from DCNR Bureau of Forestry and PA CleanWays, Inc. assisted in the removal of an abandoned car from Buchanan State Forest. The contractor, Gary Fronk of Thompsontown, used a boom truck to pull the 1974 Chrysler several hundred yards up a steep hillside. Once on Summit Road, the car was transported to a scrap dealer to be recycled.

To ensure proper disposal of waste, DCNR encourages residents to contact the Bedford County Recycling Coordinator at (814) 623-8099.
