Tiadaghton State Forest

Young VolunteersThis Dirty Dozen dumpsite falls within the Pennsylvania Wilds Region, a 13-county area in Northcentral Pennsylvania being marketed for its outstanding natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Visitors can now enjoy this area without having to look at trash.

On Saturday October 30, 2004, a total of 11 volunteers worked a combined 33 hours to remove household trash, construction debris, scrap metal and roadside litter from areas along Route 44/Summit Trail Vista and Trailhead. The sites are located in Limestone Township, between Collomsville and Elimsport, Lycoming County. Volunteers were from Bethesda Day Treatment, Inc.

Love Disposal provided the roll off and the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority discounted landfill space for the trash collected.

Smiling VolunteerTiadaghton State Forest is comprised of approximately 215,500 acres of state forest land, most of which is in Lycoming County. Small portions extend into Tioga, Sullivan, Potter, Clinton, and Union counties. Tiadaghton was the name the Iroquois gave to Pine Creek, the largest tributary of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
