Happy VolunteerClinton County residents joined PA CleanWays and DCNR staff on November 7, 2004, to remove two tons of lawn chairs, tires, bedsprings and other household items from several sites, one spilling into Drury Run, a stream located adjacent to SR 144, north of Renovo. As volunteers filled trash bags, DCNR employees loaded up their trucks and used a front end loader to fill a Wayne Township dumpster.

"The efforts of PA CleanWays and our many volunteers has had a positive effect on our efforts to eliminate illegal dumping in Sproul," Sproul District Forester Doug D'Amore said.

Picking Up Trash Near the Stream

Through DCNR's Forest Lands Beautification Program, PA CleanWays has coordinated nine cleanups in Sproul State Forest, removing 319 tons of debris and 2,273 tires. Today those nine sites remain trash free and are a welcome sight for the public to enjoy.
