Equipment Cleanup in Progress
Barn Area
Delaware Canal State Park

A collapsed barn and an historic farmhouse had been a safety concern to Delaware Canal State Park personnel since acquiring the site in 2003. PA CleanWays, Inc., partnered with the park to organize the cleanup operations of the area, located in Upper Black Eddy, Tinicum Township, Bucks County.

Lots of Rubble to Deal With

In mid-April, the contractor, Let George Do It, removed the old collapsed barn - wood, roof, and debris - leaving the original stone foundation intact. Years of accumulated waste and vandalism were cleared from the three floors and basement of the large farmhouse, which will be used as a residence for DCNR personnel. Assorted waste was removed from the surrounding grounds and the area was graded.
